Albania has adopted Law No. 124/2024 “On the Protection of Personal Data”, fully harmonized with the GDPR (Reg. EU 2016/679). Every organization must adapt its data processing activities, documentation, and procedures to the new law, which replaces Law No. 9887/2008, as well as to the implementing acts issued by the Commissioner (IDP). Non-compliance may result not only in fines, but also in damage to customer trust.
